To the party of the century (actually the half-century), road rally, trout season and lift off to the great white north. But I promised some pictures of the fish we caught in the Keys. So first things first – I’ll present the Fishing pictures from the Keys.

We're gonna need a bigger boat!

This first one is of Slick fighting a nice ~4.5 to 5 foot black tip reef shark. The shark grabbed the half a gruntfish bait and immediately stripped about 50 yds of line before jumping twice and running Slick ragged for the next 15 minutes. Slick got the shark to the boat – but no one wanted him in the boat (the shark not Slick!) and Slick said it put up a great fight so we should let him go – so I pulled the hook with a pair of pliers and watched the devil swim away.

Say Ahhhhhh

This is a shot of me taking the hook out of a nice bonnethead shark. I believe we let this one go too – since it was a big female. It put up a fine battle too but like most bonnetheads didn’t do any jumping.

Holy Mackerel!

This is a shot of Janet making a vain attempt to make her Spanish mackerel look better than mine! Can you believe this shit? You would expect this sort of thing from the woman that thrashed two upstart guys in pike tournaments up north! What poor sportsmanship!

Oh the shark bites....

This is a shot of the nice blacktip reef shark that Janet caught. We ate this one and it was absolutely deelectable. Super mild with just a hint of lemony flavor even though we used no lemon in any of the seasoning of the fillets! Maybe it was a “lemon” shark? Ba Dumpt tum!

So there you are this years Keys Pictures – fun stuff! See you all at Janet’s 50th Birthday party and remember to email Brian Rice to get your slot to roast Janet at the beginning of the party!

The fishing and dolphins have been great this year! I am Blogging on Yings computer so I won’t be posting pictures till I get back – next week. While my sister and family were here we saw many dolphins and caught mackerel, lane snapper and hundreds of grunts! MMMMM MMMM good! Since then the weather has been hot as hell for a while and now windy as hell. Sooooooo we have be doing more fishing for sharks than normal. Or I should say catching many more sharks than normal or I should say JANEETO (evil one of the planet Janetron) has been catching many sharks. We’ve had several great fishing days of screaming shark runs. Slick AKA “the great Sharkereli” has caught a ~4′ black tipped reef shark too but other than than that its been Janet getting the bulk of the bites,

Typical day – go to the channel, catch 6 grunts and several other fish then anchor and deploy the patented chum and chunks of grunt – then sit and drink beer and battle the bonnet head and reef sharks. Janet gets the bulk of the bites. Today we caught several sharks and even brought in a nice sized cobia (~4″ undersized) great fighting fish! And so it goes cards at night – railing at the Republican philistines over breakfast then fishing. Its oh so tiring but we still persevere.
