We’re back at camp, the weather is here wish you were beautiful. We left the Land of the Retarded Never Elected President for The True North Strong and Free Saturday afternoon and arrived here at Fabulous Sportsmen’s Camp at 5:30 in the morning. We only had to drive through about an hour of heavy snow! Brrr, It was fucking COLD! Funny thing though the lodge wasn’t so bad when we entered! The previous weeks of extremely hot unseasonable weather had warmed the foundation! The leaves are already almost fully out too. Along with this happiness is the downside the blackflies and sneaky-assed mosquitoes are out in abundance! Fashion consultant to the stars Hugo Bass (small mouthed) says, “All the cognoscenti are wearing they’re socks on the out side of their pantlegs and those ever so smart bug jackets”.

Lots of opening work is getting done grass cut, sign up, water system on, rocks from across the drive trailers moved, boats moved from the shop, brush cut, gas pump in place, and so on – I think you get the idea.

Janet and I went fishing on Thursday – the lake is operating like its June. The water temperature is up and the fish are hugging the shoreline. The “Leon Lure” (jointed floating rapala) is working well. I don’t have the docks in place yet so I don’t have a definitive lake temperature yet – but I assure you its warmer than normal for this time of year. Well I must run too much to do.
